Dynamic Response of a Hypersonic Rocket Sled Considering Friction and Wear

چکیده
The dynamic response of a hypersonic rocket sled was studied by considering the time-varying friction coefficient and gap caused wear between slipper track. A multibody model for system established mass moment inertia, nonlinear aerodynamic loads, engine thrust, track irregularity, contact force. As calculation, ductile shear criteria were used as material damage criteria, determined number damaged elements. test also carried out, measured. results showed that computational sliding displacement velocity third-stage matched well with values. root mean square (RMS) values vertical acceleration front better than case without wear, which underestimated RMS value approximately 20.1% at Mach 5. importance correctness method validated. It is found kinetic decreased an increase in product pressure velocity. height increased almost linearly displacement. power spectral density time full frequency band below 2000 Hz. This study will guide design optimization sleds.

Dynamic evolution of interface roughness during friction and wear processes.
Dynamic evolution of surface roughness and influence of initial roughness (S(a) = 0.282-6.73 µm) during friction and wear processes has been analyzed experimentally. The mirror polished and rough surfaces (28 samples in total) have been prepared by surface polishing on Ti-6Al-4V and AISI 1045 samples. Friction and wear have been tested in classical sphere/plane configuration using linear recipr...
متن کاملFriction and wear of PTFE - a review
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is an important engineering material. When rubbed or slid against a hard surface, PTFE exhibits a low coefficient of friction but a high rate of wear. These unique properties of the polymer have encouraged many mechanistic and physical examinations of the processes involved in the friction and wear of this polymer. A section of such work carried out over the past ...

متن کاملEvaluation of PTFE Composites with Mineral Tailing Considering Friction, Wear and Cost
The tribological test with Pin-On-Disc configuration measures friction and wear properties in dry or lubricated sliding surfaces of a variety of materials and coatings. Polymeric matrix composites loaded with mineral filler were used, 1%, 3%, 10%, 30%, and 50% mass percentage of filler, to reduce the material cost by using mineral tailings. Using a pin-on-disc tribometer to quantify coefficient...
متن کاملNanoscale friction and wear maps.
Friction and wear are part and parcel of all walks of life, and for interfaces that are in close or near contact, tribology and mechanics are supremely important. They can critically influence the efficient functioning of devices and components. Nanoscale friction force follows a complex nonlinear dependence on multiple, often interdependent, interfacial and material properties. Various studies...
